About Lompoc OMS
Our practice is a humble, small-town practice offering full scope OMS services to the Lompoc community and surrounding areas. We take pride in the patient-centered care we provide and focus on ensuring that each patient’s experience in our office is exceptional. We strive for excellence not only in patient comfort and the surgery provided, but also in communicating with our patients and referrals. We are always accepting new patients of all ages. We provide services including dental extractions, bone grafting, prf, implants, full arch implant supported treatment, general anesthesia, trauma surgery, orthognathic surgery, TMD diagnosis and treatment. Our office is state of the art and equipped with a cone beam CT that provides hospital quality CTs at a low radiation dose. We participate on the maxillofacial trauma call team at Cottage Hospital and have privileges to perform surgery in the OR setting at both Cottage Hospital and Lompoc Valley Medical Center. We are in network with most major insurance companies and accept all ppos. Providing services to our military personnel is important to us and we are providers for VA, Tricare and United Concordia insurance.

My name is Jesse Lanzon. I am an oral surgeon and I have been working in Camarillo for the past year and in Lompoc for the past 6 years. I’m originally from Turlock, CA and attended UC Berkeley for my undergraduate studies. I met my wife, Amy Buehler, while playing water polo there. We both attended USC School of Dentistry and went on to complete residencies at the University of Michigan (Amy is a pedodontist at Camarillo Children’s Dental Group). We moved back to California to be closer to our families in 2012 and are so happy to call the central coast our home! We have three young sons (Casey, Cody, and Charlie) who are the lights of our lives.

David L. McAninch IV, DDS

Dr. David McAninch was born and raised in Lompoc, CA. He graduated from Cabrillo High School, and attended Cal Poly: San Luis Obispo for his Bachelor’s degree. He then attended the University of Southern California Ostrow School of Dentistry, where he discovered his passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS). Following dental school, he completed his OMS residency at the University of the Pacific, and the Alameda County Medical Center – Highland Hospital in Oakland and San Francisco. Dr. McAninch also has earned his certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This achievement represents the highest distinction within the specialty and that the surgeon has satisfied a rigorous application and examination process.
As a native Lompocan, Dr. McAninch is thrilled be able to provide service to the people in his hometown. He possesses a unique perspective on the area and its residents, and enjoys seeing old friends and making new ones.
Dr. McAninch met his wife, Elyse (also Dr. McAninch), in dental school and she now practices Orthodontics on the Central Coast. Together they have two children, Bruce and Nora, and enjoy working on home renovation projects, wine tasting and spending time with family at home and at Lake Nacimiento.

David L. McAninch IV, DDS

Dr. Reynaldo Rivera, DDS, MD, FACS

Dr. Rivera was born and raised in Southern California and completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA), before moving to Michigan to complete both dental and medical school at The University of Michigan. He stayed at The University of Michigan to complete his general surgery training and residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at this world-renowned institution. While in Ann Arbor, he gained immense clinical knowledge in medicine, surgery, anesthesia, head and neck oncology, reconstruction, and microvascular surgery. After completing his formal training, he elected to pursue additional fellowship training in Craniofacial Surgery and Pediatric Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he further elevated his insight into treating complex pediatric conditions, such as craniosynostosis, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric head and neck tumors. His clinical passions include comprehensive surgical care from birth to adulthood for children with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial differences, orthognathic surgery (jaw reconstruction), facial trauma, complex bone grafting, dental implants, head and neck pathology, as well as computer assisted virtual surgical treatment planning.
Dr. Rivera is extremely honored for the privilege of being your surgeon. He is very aware of the fact that his patients place their trust in him, particularly parents who trust his knowledge and surgical skills in the care of their children, which is something he takes very seriously. Dr. Rivera loves to teach and is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and he is a proud Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has a Certification of Added Qualification by the ABOMS in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery. He is active in lecturing around the country on a variety of surgical, medical, and dental topics has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, and is involved in cleft mission trips around the globe. He has earned numerous honors throughout his career, which is a reflection of his commitment to his patients. Dr. Rivera strives to not only be amongst the top surgeons in Southern California, but amongst the top surgeons in the world. He lives here in the 805 with his beautiful wife Kelli, and two wonderful children Colleen and David.
